Hong Kong Series| Going there from Macau

now back to my "blast from the past" post....  there are still a lot of throw back posts hidden in my old chest...

From our hotel, there is a free shuttle bus going to the port.  After 30 minutes, we are at the port.  We bought our ferry tickets at the ground floor.  The rate is cheaper here by around MOP30.00.  FYI, there is an additional charge for a big baggage/luggage of MOP20.00 (each).

this is where you should buy tickets
A very important tip for travelers - do not bring big luggages like we did.  It's better for each person to carry their own luggage (preferably light ones).  It was very hard carrying this from Macau port to HK.

From Macau, you will use an escalator then when you reach HK, you will again use the escalator for five times since the station is located at the fifth floor.  Also, you cannot shop around the mall (where it is located) tugging that big luggage.  We are so damn tired I tell you.  Going down is the hardest part.

We then rode a cab going to the hotel. We left Macau by 3PM.  We reached the hotel at around 6PM.

We stayed in Tai San Guest House.  I found this through a forum discussing affordable places in HK.  I chose this place since it is located in the middle of shopping district along Nathan Road.  It is just a few steps away from MTR TST station and still a walking distance from Jordan station and night markets.

it is located along Granville Road (perpendicular to Nathan Road)

after Sasa, there is a small sign of the guest house
here it is...

the entrance.. yes, it is also a motel but really a decent one

There are only 6 rooms in this Guest House.  Our room can accomodate 3 people (maximum).  Upon checking-in, you will have to give the whole accomodation payment.  You will be given a key of your room and the security code for the gate.  Security is quite good.

tiny room... a mattress was added on that luggage space for my nephew

shower and toilet in one tiny room, too... on;y one can fit inside

the view from our window.... yes, still an inspiration to shop
Dining is not also a problem since it is located beside a pizza shop.  KFC, McDo and other fast foods are just a stone throw away also.

Tai-San has another branch in Burlington which has a lot number of rooms, a living and dining area.  Also, the Filipina caretaker - Ate Yolly is based there.  You can exchange your US$ to HK$ from her.  The rate is higher compared to the black market.  She has also been very helpful in guiding us for directions.

For more info; please visit www.hktaisanguesthouse.com.  You can pay through paypal, just email the owner first to create a paypal payment access for you.  You have to pay the 50% of total accomodation cost.

After a quick night shopping, we rested our tired body.  Next day is intended for the Happiest Place on Earth.
