Cebu Series: Yap San Diego Ancestral Home - A Home that Withstood the Test of Time

can't deny how old it is...
I'm always, always fascinated and curious with vintage stuffs (but not vintage people haha) and Cebu has a lot to offer.  With limited time (work as a priority), I opted to just check some tourist spots within the city.  Fortunately, there are some ancestral homes in Parian (15 mins. from our hotel).

I have seen this ancestral home in some FB posts and I have been curious to see it eversince.  So when I was finally assigned in Cebu for a few days, I wasted no time in researching and blog stalking for this place.  I just have to see it.

as per written on the sign board, this was built during the 17th century
Since our return flight is at 10PM, we have a lot of time to wander around the city and for some last minute shopping.

Cebu Series: Feeling Nostalgic in STK Ta Bai ! at Paolito's Seafood Restaurant

Cebu is so rich in history and delicious dishes.  So, it's like finding a treasure to find these two combined in a restaurant.

with a homey feel
My former boss and dear friend R, who is now assigned in Cebu, has treated us for our last dinner in Cebu - here in STK.  Actually, I have requested him to take us here since he's been raving about it on our first meeting.  Thus, before going to the airport we passed by this place first after failing to buy lechon for our "pasalubong".

STK is a home turned restaurant.  Now, it has an Annex, proving that it is well received by the locals and tourists as well.

Cebu Series: Choobi-Choobi "lingaw lingaw kaon"

Hello again my dearest blog.  It's an updated post this time  (though I still have a lot on queue).

it is located at the top with an open space type restaurant

I'm soooo glad to be back in Cebu after my Oslob adventure but it's more of work related this time.  Just the same, listening to my wandering self, I can't leave it without having some fun and adventure.  This time, I have limited time so I opted to check interesting places inside Cebu City.  I also promised myself to try the seafood again.  So, I did some research on how to make my short stay here worth it.

Ilog Maria in Silang

How fortunate we are, to learn that Ilog Maria is just a stone throw away from my cousin's home.  I have been wanting to try their products since I saw some in Eco Village.

While the kids are swimming, we visited this place to check its products.  I'm always fascinated in seeing a bee farm since (1) it's rare in a tropical country like the Philippines, (2) I'm learning a lot on how they can tame these insects and (3) who does not love honey?

Tagaytay's Sky Ranch Experience

I’m not a fan of theme parks except when there’s a cable car and some sea animals in it (yep, HK Ocean Park it is).  But when you have kids with you, you have to adjust to what they want so theme park visit is a must in every travel (if there is one).

Our First Caleruega Church Visit

I'm not a religious person but I can proudly say that I'm spiritual, thus, it's always a must to visit the local churches whenever we are on a travel.  It's not just my faith but my appreciation with the churches architecture, especially old churches.

2013 - the year with my most travels (so far)

here, there and everywhere
Being a mom and with limited resources, my only travel goal is at least two (2) destinations in each year, one with the whole family (during summer) and one "travel date" with hubby.  But destiny has its own plans for me.  As I review my travels last year, I realized that my wandering feet had been very busy.  Imagine going to 14 destinations for the whole year!!!!  Whoah! where did I get all the resources??? Miracles do really happen.

Here's my year end travel summary report.  Most were not yet posted.  Yeah, I'm soooo busy.. este lazy I know!

A Taste of Spiral

At long last I set foot in Sofitel, where the famous Ëat-All-You-Can" resto - the Spiral resides.  It is the most raved about (before Vikings came) when it comes to buffet dining with its wide array of local and international dishes to choose from.  I'm just so fortunate to be treated by a very good friend.
