Weekend Getaway in Wilson's Place, Tagaytay

happened on May 14-15, 2016

Our group's "Windangan's yearly summer outing" almost didn't push through for this year.  Most of the known and famous "go to" summer places were already booked for the whole summer,

The girls and I met one April afternoon and tried to book for a place. We thought it would be easy but we have underestimated the Filipinos' itchy wandering feet.  Every place we checked upon is already booked.  Then I remember Wilson's place from the blogs that I have visited.  Fortunately they don't have any bookings yet on our preferred dates.  And so our summer tradition has been saved!

Wilson's Place is tucked away in quite place along Maglabe Drive. It's not too far from the famous attractions but located in a much serene place. It's unlike the traditional hotels that can be intimidating since it only caters 13 rooms (with 4 family rooms located outside the main building and near the pool).  It's a perfect place for a group of 20 up 50 persons.

For Directions going there:

Pass by Tagaytay-Nasugbu Hi-way.  You'll pass by Sky Ranch and eventually Bag of Beans.  Make a right turn to Maglabe Drive after Soto Grande (fronting Green At's). You'll pass by Flower Farm then eventually will see "Wilson's" small signage.  Turn right and you will see the gated Wilson's Place.  Parking is at the other side.  The staff will assist you on parking the vehicle and with your things.

I instantly fell in love with it. Let me summarize why:

1. The feeling of being secluded from everything.  It is a gated place, with a separate parking.  Even if we are not the only guests, we felt that we own the place (hehe na boxed out ang ibang guests sa dami namin!!!).  It is also so quite in here.  I love the feeling of being away from everything.  Total relaxation it is.

2. The pool.  It is not too big nor too small; just enough for us.  It also has a common area for card games, music tripping and others.  I would like to recommend though that they add a kiddie pool since toddlers are not quite safe in this pool.

3. The family room is comfortable enough for a family of six. If you are 6 in a group, I would recommend for the Wood family room as it is the most spacious with 2 single beds and 1 queen sized bed.  It also has a couch.  Amenities include toiletries, H&C shower, flat TV, hair dryer and towels. For this room, you don't have to get an extra mattress as the single bed can comfortably accommodate 2 persons.

4.  The collection of artworks - from metal sculptures, paintings and furniture.  It truly is an eye candy.

5.  The food.  The breakfast and dinner are already included in the room rate.  We have 5 course  meals for dinner and breakfast.  Everything tasted good.  I love the breakfast of dried fish and beef tapa with tomato salsa on the side.  The food is too much for the kids.  Kung puede nga lang i take out lahat.

6.  The spacious living and dining rooms.  There's a piano for the music lovers and some magazines for reading.  It feels like being at home.

7. The friendly and accommodating staff - two thumbs up for them!  They didn't complain in any of our demanding requests.

8.  The stunning view at night.  You can also use the videoke machine if you want to disturb the silence.

The rates are not that cheap, but still affordable with included breakfast and dinner with four to fives courses meals:

Published Rates (Peak Season):
Family Room - Php 8,500.00 + 5% SC
Regular Room - P5,500.00 + 5% SC
Petite Room - Php5,000.00 + 5% SC
Extra Person: Php1,200.00 (with food but without mattress)
Extra Person: Php1,700.00 (with food and mattress)

For the rooms for 2 persons, it is highly recommended to get the regular rooms.  With minimum difference of Php525.00, you'll already have a balcony and a stunning view of the pool

The only downside is the foul smell for the petite rooms.  My friends who were booked in these rooms said that they can't take the smell coming from the bathrooms.  I hope they can do something on this.

Over-all, we have a very pleasant weekend as can be seen in these pictures.

our happy group
