Davao| Malipano Island

happened on Jan. 19, 2016

Ever dream of owning an island for yourself?  This is what you will exactly feel when you visit this islet.
view from Pearl Farm
A 10 minute boat ride from Pearl Farm is this private and serene islet.  It is a protected area for mangroves and there's continuous planting of these trees till now.

so near...
In order to reach the swimming area, you still have to pass by the mangrove area.  It's spooky and creepy if you are walking alone on these unusual looking trees.  Sarap gumawa ng thriller movie dito.  But others may find this romantic for sure.

There are two sides of this islet where you can swim.  This side is facing Pearl Farm and I found it to be not enticing but still with breath taking view.  There is also a resident peacock here.  you'll be in luck if he will boast his colorful feathers when you are around.  We stayed here for just a few minutes then transferred on the other side.

I prefer this side which is just a few minutes walk from the other side.  It's only the sea and some stilt houses.  It seems they are under renovation and not yet ready for any accommodation.

For an hour, we felt we own this island.  We didn't even felt hunger and just laze around.  I can stay here all day just reading and enjoying the sea.

There is also a golf course here for the golf enthusiast, a chapel and overlooking area.

If not for the schedule of the last trip going back to PF, we could have stayed longer.  It's total silence here.  I felt calm and relaxed.  So if you will go to PF, make sure to visit this islet, too.  There is no additional charge for this.
