SG Day 3: Sky Flyer and Helix Bridge

the tube with dining set-up.. it's huge
After a quick freshen up, we went back to Marina Bay area for the Sky flyer experience.  Our combined tour package (Sky Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and River Cruise) costs only S$55.00, discounted of around S$10.00.  We opted to do it at night to see SG's panoramic view of this area and we were not disappointed.  It's a beautiful night scene.

lots of shops to explore, too

The tube is so huge that it can carry 12 persons or more (but being limited to 12).  You can even reserve a tube for a dinner set-up.  We learned that there are some engagement proposals being held here since the view at night is quite romantic.

Before boarding the tube, you will first pass by a trivia room; some facts and the history of how it was conceptualized and made.

Then you have to line up for your turn, after being photographed at the entrance.  The queue is quite fast.  The ride is not scary since the rotation is so slow.  There is so much enough time and space looking at all the famous SG landmarks - the domes of Gardens by the Bay, the tree grooves, Marina Bay Sands, Helix bridge, Esplanade, etc.

Some nice shots of hubby...

On my next visit, I'll check this flyer on daylight.

After the ride, we tried the XD for a discounted half price of S$10.00 ; a 6D movie house that can accommodate a small group of up to 12 persons. It was fun - it felt like being in the movie scene with the chair moving in synch with the scenes. There is also some effects for the smell and rain showers.  Picture taking is not allowed so I don't have a remembrance of this tiny movie house.  It has somehow made my heart beat fast.

For our dinner, there is a food court type at the lower ground floor featuring SG's local cuisine in an old SG setting.  I love the chicken hainanese and oyster omelet.  Prices are quite affordable.

We capped the night at the Helix bridge.  We are quite fortunate to taste the famous S$1 ice cream sandwich. It's way better than our dirty ice cream version.

It was a very busy day and we have really maximized our activities for this day.  For more info on the Sky Flyer, pls. visit http://www.singaporeflyer.com/.
