Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay

the façade
I have been seeing this hotel in one of Metrodeal's promos and been meaning to purchase the voucher but always find it expensive... hehehe...  I'm so glad when I learned that our Division's planning session will be held here.  I can have the experience for free.

It's a deluxe hotel situated far off from the main road, in a quiet and cool location.  It's interiors is Filipino/Asian theme.

The planning session is for a two day event and first day was solely intended for the planning session and 2nd day is free day so we can just explore and enjoy the venue.  Unfortunately, we haven't thought of hiring a vehicle to roam around Tagaytay (aside from being lazy, we are no longer first timers in Tagaytay so no one is keen on touring around).

just a small and secluded hotel

Let's have a tour first...

1. The lobby and reception area - the lobby is quite spacious.  Checking-in is a breeze.

2. The Café - they offer buffet breakfast (499++), buffet lunch, buffet dinner and cocktails.  Sorry to disappoint you but food is just so-so.

limited selection of wines

organic herbs for sale

3. The function rooms - there are 3 function rooms at the second floor that can accommodate a hundred people or more when combined.  They can provide complete facilities for any function.

4. Separate function hall - this is located outside of the hotel and beside the pool area.  I think it can accommodate upto 100-150 pax.  It's a great venue for weddings, birthdays or any occasion.

5. The twin bedroom - furnished with two single beds, reading nook, desk, shower and rain shower head, mini ref, elect. kettle, hair dryer, cabinet, flat TV, complimentary water bottle and toiletries and with a balcony.  Published rate is P5,500 during peak season.

complimentary bottled water

6.  The recreational/gym area - billards, table tennis, just to name of a few of what's inside.

7. The pool area - there are two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids).  Water is quite cold so only a few of us took a dip.  It's quite intimidating swimming here since it's not too secluded.

8.  The obstacle course - companies can conduct their team buildings here with obstacle courses provided.  I have seen kids on retreat and enjoying this area.

9.  The farm - unlike other hotels, it has an organic farm with fresh produce and farm animals.

So, how do I find this hotel???

Plus Points:
1. Quiet and secluded location for total relaxation
2. Friendly and helpful staff
3. The farm with its animals - it can be educational for city kids
4. The obstacle course which kids can also enjoy
5. Ample parking space
6. Clean rooms with complete amenities.
7. The rain shower
8. The small but clean pools
9.  The cold weather in Tagaytay
10. Free Wi-Fi access

Negative Points:
1. Since it's a secluded location, there are no nearby restaurants and other attractions.  It's not quite accessible so you need to have your own vehicle.
2.  No hot and cold shower in our room and water is not strong so it'll take time taking a bath.
3.  Food is not that delectable (based on what has been served to us).
4.  Pool is so open so it's quite intimidating taking a dip with proper swimming attire needed.  It's not heated so water is cold.
5. Towels are not clean.  They already carry the signs of tear and wear.
6. Terrible Wi-Fi connection

Over-all, it's still a nice hotel and affordable compared to other hotels in Tagaytay.
