Shenzhen: Around the World in a Day (Windows of the World)

the entrance
One thing that the Chinese are well-known for is for being great imitators - from branded apparels, toys, arts, technology to just about anything.  No questions asked! It's quite amazing how dedicated and patient they are in studying something to create a replica of it.

There is a park in Shenzen that is being flocked by tourists where this mastery can be seen - the Windows of the World.  I remember during our HK tour in 2003, this was included in our package but only in the entrance.  We have no time to enter it that time. I even thought that it was just that and I'm so wrong.  I'm so blessed that this is included in our ZTE training.  Since it was a 23-day training, we have three "gala weekends" here.  For three Saturdays, we were brought to different parks. Sundays were our laundry and rest day.  I have not seen a church nearby so no Sunday mass for me.

As per our kind tour guide - Sarah, some scholars were sent to different parts of the world to study the famous landmarks.  It took them (scholars) seven years to learn these (famous) landmarks.  With their gathered knowledge, they have built this park.

It will take you a whole day to completely roam around and see all the man-made creations .  It was really quite tiring but so worth it.

I'm quite amazed with the details on each landmark replica and they are scaled, too.  It is really like seeing these landmarks for real.

Let's go for a tour.

-Asia-

Ankor Wat of Cambodia
in Indonesia

Grand Palace of Thailand

a Japanese garden

Merloin of Singapore
in Miyanmar
I was told by my Miyanmar co-trainees that this is really made of gold.

Taj Mahal - the details are really impressive

Kyongbokkung Palace in South Korea
It's quite sad that not one of our famous landmarks is showcased here, to think that we have a lot to be proud of.  We are really the underdogs.

the famous Sydney Opera House

Ayers Rock

-Europe-

Maze Garden in England

San Sebastian's twin

Winter Palace

leaning tower of pizza

Holland's windmills

Notre Dame de Paris in France
