Makati City| Celebrating New Year in Fraser Place Manila

happened on Dec.29, 2016 - Jan. 1, 2017

My eldest sister D was supposed to be home for the holidays and she wanted a special celebration since she seldom visits home.  As early as June of last year, we have already booked a hotel for the New Year celebration.  We opted to avoid any out-of- town trip as tourist destinations outside Metro Manila are too crowded during the holidays.  Staycation is the next best option.

I chanced upon Agoda's promo for Fraser Place Manila for almost 40% discounted rate.  I have read good reviews about it so we hurriedly booked our reservations.

However my sister's vacation break in the Philippines didn't push through so my family of half a dozen celebrated NY without her.

Checking-in is a breeze.  The receptionists are accommodating and very hospitable.  Hindi masusungit!

I'm quite impressed with this serviced apartment.  First, it is strategically located - just walking distance to Ayala Triangle and the retail centers like Greenbelt, Landmark and Glorietta.  There are also some convenience stores nearby like Ministop, etc.  If you are a fitness buff, you'll surely enjoy jogging/running around the vicinity and in Ayala Triangle.  You can also visit the dancing lights which we saw for the first time.

a huge crowd it is but the show is so entertaining

I was surprised that the 2 bedroom suite we booked is so spacious - with large dining, living area and a foyer.

doesn't look like a hotel door

The kitchen is well equipped.  Preparing meals is quite easy with the kitchenwares, microwave and oven provided.  The fridge is also big and enough to house all my pre-cooked meals.  What I love most is that it is enclosed with a door, thus, the cooking smell is only confined in the kitchen. It also have a toilet and laundry area.

The Master's bedroom has a reading nook, canopy bed with soft and fluffy mattress, a large flat TV, office desk and a huge toilet and bath.  I like that they provided dark and heavy curtains that you can have a nice sleep even it's high noon already.

The Master's T&B is so huge with two sinks (for his and her), a shower and walk-in closet.  I love the shower the most as it has a shower option for each part of your body.  The toilettries provided smells great, too.  Bath robes, soft slippers and towels are also provided.

love at first use

love the smell of these products
Unlike other serviced hotels, the 2nd bedroom has its own T&B.  It also has a huge flat TV.

a good for two bed
There is another powder room for guests located at the hallway.  Thus, for a 2 bedroom suite, there is a total of 4 toilets. Having guests in this place becomes manageable.

We welcomed the new year with some prepared and restaurant bought meals.  It was a first time for my family to spend NY just the six of us.  It was a nice bonding.  We watched the fireworks from our window.

We also visited BGC since it's just a few minutes drive from Makati.  It was great walking around during the holidays since there are only a few people around.  The kids love staying in Fully Booked reading Japanese Mangas.  Hubby loves the vinyl section.

Complimentary breakfast is being served at the penthouse in Craving's.  It's a limited spread of Filipino and American breakfast.  I love their desserts of brownies, blondies and revel bars.  Craving's is known for great desserts so it's a must to sample their desserts.  You can also buy some cakes and other pastries here.

The only downside is the small and old pool located at the rooftop, near Craving's.  It's not inviting at all.  It badly needed an upgrade.  But overall, I will definitely wanted to return and spend 2 nights or more here.  Maybe when the year is about to end.

Hello 2017!!!

  1. I see that you were disappointed with their pool. Why don't you check out senta's pools and jacuzzis? There's also a party lawn and barbecue area at their roof deck. It's also located in Makati so it's just nearby! :)
