Finding Peace in Mabini, Batangas

Keeping up with the daily needs of life can leave one's body and mind exhausted.  With my unforgiving body now (blame it on the age!), a weekend getaway is a pure bliss.  And blessings come in unexpected moments.

tranquility...
I was treated by a dear friend with a very relaxing weekend getaway last Dec. 2011.  She's bragging about this place for a long time and I'm not convinced till I experience it myself. It turned out to be one of my most relaxing weekends ever.

that's the diving site
It's a private bed and breakfast located at the mountain slope of Mabini, Batangas.  It is owned by a wonderful couple - Sir Romy and Ms. Anna Trono who happened to be licensed scuba divers and travelers.  It can only accomodate a small group of guests (15 persons and below).  Thus, you can expect a very personalized service.

We were welcomed with an array of fruits, aside from the magnificent views.

The place is a work of art in itself.  The owner's late uncle is an artist and the brain for this bed and breakfast.  His woodworks are great.  Every corner and nook of the house is with interesting pieces. The wonderful couple has a lot of collections and souvenirs from their travels which they incorporated here as well.

there's a newspaper ads about it

didn't verify if these are real or not

This is also a place for gastronomic feast.  The dishes are so simple but taste so great.  Their daughter - Abby is a culinary graduate.  For a price of P2,500.00/pax for an overnight, all in (accomodation, 2 lunches, 1  breakfast, 1 dinner, in between snacks and bottomless coffee, tea, cocktail drinks and sodas), this is a steal.  You'll be a queen for a day (or more if you want to).

trying the over exposed look

first lunch - adodong onions, stir fried squid, chicken, banana blossom, ginataang ampalaya, sinigang na salmon and leche flan as dessert...
dinner - stir fried tokwa, grilled pork, corn soup (we really love), shrimps and sitr fried vegetables...cocktail drinks after

breakfast - to die for pancakes, noodles from malaysia and lots of fruits

unlimited coffee
farewell lunch - bamboo shells, laing rice (another best seller), and grilled wild boar
Aside from the gastronomic treat, we were serenaded by a great musician who happened to be vacationing also - Boyet.  How can someone so blessed!  He played the guitar and sings so well.  It's like being in a concert.  I wish to have a copy of his CD.

Another activity not to be missed is having a massage.  I had a great one.

i fell sleep after the massage
The next day, we went for a dive.  This was my 4th intro dive...will be tackled on my next blog.  Here are the views downstairs.

Before we went home, we had our nail pampering.  Also, we were asked to choose the souvenir that we want to take home.  I took this remaining piece.

And it's time for our farewell shot.  I hope to see them again.
